My Favouite Thathuvam from cine songs...

I used to keep on saying these lines when i was in school. But it seems that lot of bad things happened in my family all of sudden, after that whenever i say this, my aunt became very angry with me...

"Ippadi solratha mudhala niruthu...ellam nalla padiya nadakum"..

I have stopped saying these lines in my house. But somehow i feel these lines tells the exact nature of life...

I can say it was Vairamuthu's way of saying "Survival of the fittest"

Mythreyi Mangal

Though I have a dozen of brothers and couple of sisters, my sister Narmadha stands out of them. She somehow resembles me, at least in terms of studiousness.

Whenever I go to her place, she is definitely with a book. Till now I have not seen her without her books. And she loves to study in a place which is more chaotic (One of the biggest resemblance with me).

I was a proud person of my family circle because I hold the record for the highest 10, +2 marks and now into a very good position by joining TCS. And now all these are history.

She had beaten my 10th and +2 marks by a massive margin. She joined the premier Anna University (which I was not able to achieve) and now got a scholarship from the Hinduja group (which is also I was not able to).

At the end of engineering, she will definitely be gold medalist from Anna University and end up in a big company with a huge salary.

What I personally feel, she should get into IIM for MBA, which was also my dream.

I have started calling her Padips, which makes her angry.

Anna, enna padipsnu sollatheenga..Athuvum adhai neenga solla koodathu.

May god be with her in all her future endeavours..

My favourite song - today is ஏதேதோ எண்ணங்கள் from Pattiyal.

Though i religiously hate Yuvan singing songs in this movies, there are few songs which perfectly suits his voice.

The latest one is this. My previous favourite is Eno Kangal from Kalvanin Kadhali.

Now a days he has started singing 3 out of 5 songs in his compositions. Even in அழகாய் இருக்கிறாய் பயமாய் இருக்கிறது, he has given voice to 4 out of 5 songs. I think someone is wrongly advicing him about his voice.

But this song from pattiyal exactly suits his voice. The way it is picturised, the lyrics by Pa.Vijay, everything adds to the beauty of the song.

Just listen once....U will never change to other track for a while...

Though i am a religious hater of tamil TV Serials, i am great lover of the title songs of the serials. Some of the serials have excellent songs (Dont forget: Lyrics attracts me more that music).

I think the trend was started by Chitti (Kannin mani) and Krishnadasi (Sigaram Parthai). My personal favorite is krishnadasi where Imman has done a wonderful piece of music. He was not into films at that time.

But i remember even before these trends, the songs of K.B are exceptionally good. Remember the

கையளவு கையளவு மனசு
அதில் கடலளவு கடலளவு கனவு

and the Kadhal pagadai songs. And the serials of AVM, where vairmuthu is default lyric writer, SPB is singer and chandrabose is the music director (Nimmadhi Nimmadhi Ungal Choice).

Even when Vikatan started producing serials, Yuvan was the standard music director. At that Yuvan was not famous. The songs which he composed for those serials will actually tell the reason for his fame now. He showed lot of potential at that time itself.

One Pei serial song,

வா வா இதயத்திலே
ஏதோ உருவத்திலே

is still my fav song among serial.

Yugabharathi

Heard about Yugabharathi?

He is one of my favorite my time poet. His modern poems are quite fresh to read and the way he handles chosen topic is really good.

I remember a poem where he compares his poem writing skills with his father's "vetrilai" chewing skills. The entire poem goes that his poem writing skills are more superior to his father's chewing skills.

But the poem ends like this

எப்பொழுது போட்டாலும்

ஒரேமாதிரி சிவக்கிறது அவர் நாக்கு

ஒருதடவை கூட முழுதாக

முடிந்ததில்லை என் கவிதை

You might recognize him if I mention some of his movie songs. I think he started with Palaang guzhiyin from Anandham.

He has written only few of them..all are equally good and fresh...and my favorite is Kana kandenadi from Parthiban kanavu. His recent is the "Dhavani pota" is a chartbuster.

But I am not able to read him poems after he moved to film industry..It is the fate of film industry that it takes the best person into it and slowly makes them to forget the best of them...

I hope it should not happen to Yuga.

Way to go man.

Random Thoughts

I was reading a crime novel by Rajeshkumar. There are some random thoughts (Thathuvams) sprinkled at the start of each section.

These 2 are the ones which made me think for a longer time.

கேட்டதையெல்லாம் நம்பாதே
நம்பியதையெல்லாம் சொல்லாதே


கடவுள் பாவிகளை மன்னித்துவிடுகிறார்.
இல்லையென்றால்
சொர்க்கம் காலியாக இருக்கும்.

One more to the list

Apart from the opposite sex attracts law, my turn on is the "Intelligence of a girl".

Somehow I admire girls who bubbles with intelligence and enthusiasm. There is a long list of intelligent girls who i admire and the latest one is here.

I was watching "Arattai Arangam" in SUN TV, yesterday. There is a girl "Uma Maheswari", talked about how women themselves are responsible for the failure of women.

I have seen many girls who always have this foul cry of "only men" are responsible for all the illness of women. I hate when i hear and avoid reading these kinds of stuff.

But it was a pleasant surprise that she has taken a different route and spoken very spontaneously. They way she had designed her speech, the points she took to prove the idea, the way she counter attacked is really nice experience to watch.

Somehow I was attracted by her (Add one more to the list mamu....).

And one point which is the highlight of her entire speech is this

அனாதைகள் எல்லாம் ஆண்டவனின் குழந்தைகள் என்றால்

அந்த ஆண்டவனுக்கும் கட்டாயம் தேவை குடும்ப கட்டுப்பாடு

Today I was taken back by surprise by this incident.

I called TATA Indicom Customer care to enquire about Walky Life Prepaid connection. I am doing the same for couple of days to get it installed as soon as possible.

But when I called today, I heard a voice

வணக்கம் நான் மஞ்சுளா பேசுகிறேன்.
நான் தங்களுக்கு எவ்வாறு உதவ முடியும்.

Though she was not able to continue with the same fluency in Tamil, the effort is 1000 times appreciable.

Power of Power

Students of IIT have floated a political party PARITRANA , and had their first press conference in Delhi.

Being seen all kind of parties and political drama, lets join hands to welcome this one, just because it is formed by people from premier education institution of India. Let’s wish this party grows and capture the Indian constituency one day, in our lifetime itself.

They might have floated this party after frustrated by the current politics. They have high ideologies at this point of time. They have lots of ideas and plans; they can do to the people of India, thereby taking India to new heights. But I am not sure will they retain the same values, if at all, when they come to power. The power of power, particularly in politics, is to turn even the best people to their worst.

I remember an incident of my high school days.

When I was studying 11th std, the 12th students were so misbehaving and there were lot of problems in the school. One day, I asked my physics teacher Ramamani, why these +2 students are so misbehaving while we, the +1, students are so quite and studious.

She replied, "That’s not their fault, when u come and sit in those benches, u will be the same". That is 100% true. When we came to +2, we created more problems that our seniors, which led some teachers in their resignation also. That is the power of power.

People don’t realize this till the point they come to power. As soon as they reach there, all the ideologies they held till that point of time holds no good. They will start creating new ones for the rest of the period.

I wish that should not happen with this party. All the very best to "Paritrana".

Dreams Unlimited

Usually I go to sleep around 10.30 to 11.00 in the night. Till 2 will be in sound sleep. Usually my sleep at this time will not be disturbed by TV sound, brightness of light, discussion of my family members unless they are exceptionally high.

But I will wake up around 2. Mostly I will have strange dream, and I reach a point where I cannot stand the intensity of the dream, so I wake up, look for my mobile phone to see the time. 99% percent it will be around 2. After that point I will be a semi-conscious sleep. Mostly dreams will occupy my sleep from 2 to 5.30 (I finally getup from my bed at this time. If I wake up early, others will be disturbed. So I will stay in my mattress till 5.30).

I donno whether I can say that this period is dream, becoz most of the time I am aware of the happenings in my brain.

The entire process itself is so systematic, it happens the same way every day.

After I see the time and go to sleep again, only the body will put to rest, the brain remains awake. It just starts activity one cell at a time. slowly some person will start entering my dream theatre, slowly slowly , one by one, people start entering and will start playing their part, all the leading to situation they take action to fulfill my unfulfilled desires.

All the time people, I see in my dreams are those about whom I read about, persons who I don’t like, persons I like but haven’t talked to them, my friends. There won’t be any famous personalities or my family members in my dream. Usually it will be only the above mentioned people, mostly people I like but haven’t talked.

And most of the time, the themes of my dream will be like
1. Becoming friend with the person to whom I wanted to talk in my real life, we become so close
2. Becoming friend with the person I hate
3. Situations will lead to a point where my most longing desire is going to be fulfilled (like an onsite oppr), and usually I wake up at the point when it is going to be fulfilled and realize that it is only dream. A sudden sadness engulfs me at the start of the day itself. The entire day I will be the lost mood.

There will not be any change in this process. I donno why it is happening. May be I am an a introvert, May be I don’t have many friends to share my feelings, May be I don’t have that much guts to do the things I like, May be I have so much desires than an a normal person.

I have the desire to live the life in the way I want, but practicality is not allowing, at least at this point of time.

May be after sometime I can lead the life the way I want or die before that.
